- Gazelle Wind Power is an innovative offshore engineering company developing next-generation floating wind platforms designed to accelerate the global energy transition.
Overview
- The Naval Architect is responsible for lightship design, hydrodynamic modelling, and mooring system optimization for floating offshore wind (FOWT) platforms. The goal is to ensure reliable and efficient platform performance across environmental conditions and to integrate solutions into Gazelle’s FOWT designs.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering, or similar.
- Around 5 years of experience in naval architecture or offshore engineering.
- Strong knowledge of design software (Autodesk, Rhino), stability tools, and MS Office.
- Proficiency in Python and MATLAB.
- Familiarity with DNV or ABS standards.
- Demonstrated experience in stability and hydrodynamic analysis (ANSYS AQWA, WAMIT).
- Background in shipbuilding and flat-panel stiffened structures.
Skills & Attributes
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Clear communicator, collaborative, and proactive.
- Familiarity with offshore regulatory and classification requirements.
- Project management awareness and cross-disciplinary coordination.
- Fluent in English and Portuguese.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform hydrodynamic and stability modelling for FOWT platforms.
- Design and optimize mooring and platform configurations.
- Collaborate with structural and manufacturing teams.
- Manage supplier and subcontractor interfaces.
- Review technical documentation and calculations for accuracy and compliance.
- Provide technical support throughout engineering, construction, and installation.
- Stay updated on offshore wind technologies and industry best practices.
- Start date: As soon as possible
